May Roofing Update

Rainfall was significantly below average this May, however traffic picked up at our showroom and we’re seeing a significant increase in calls. People seems to be worried about this year’s hurricane season and news from the NOAA is predicting a highly active season.

Mid April Roofing Update

One day of significant rain has pushed this month’s rainfall over the monthly average. That rainfall has reminded many homeowners that extended periods of time without proper maintenance have made their roof more susceptible to water intrusions and while we are not getting the volume of calls we would normally expect for re-roofs (since homeowners are generally spending less on home repair this year), homeowners in need of repairs have been calling several times daily. As we approach the beginning of rainy/hurricane season, we expect to see demand for roof repairs increase commensurately with the increase in rain.

Our recommendation is to get your roof evaluated before the rains and defend against as yet unknown water intrusions. Now would also be a good time to sign up for a roofing maintenance plan.

March Overview

March was a very wet month with rainfall almost tripling historical averages. As such, roofing volume picked up significantly. There seems to be less hesitancy from the general public to maintaining their home, but they also realize that as the summer rains approach, a sealed roof is of utmost importance.Ā  We see a steady increase in business as we approach hurricane season. At that point all bets are off.

Mid-February Roofing Trends Florida

We’re half way through February and overall industry activity and business seems to be picking up. More people are interested in re-roofing, although margins are still being squeezed, making lean operations all the more necessary. A couple significant rainstorms have exposed the problems with existing and neglected roofing systems and homeowners are beginning to see that they cannot wait until the summer rains or worse a tropical storm or hurricane to get this fixed.

With a diverse business model Garabar has been able to garner work from various industries and weather the industry downturn but the industry isn’t out of the woods yet. Companies have to redouble their efforts to keep costs low and quality high in order to be competitive in the years to come.
